pākalakala
/ pā.kala.kala /1. n., Gray-backed tern (Sterna lunata 🌐), also called the bridled, spectacled, or gray wide-awake tern. The forehead is white, as is a broad stripe over the eye; the nape, the top of the head and a stripe through the eye are black; the upper parts are dark ashy, with white beneath.
