By 1910, the Kahului Railroad Company had completed an 1,800-foot long breakwater, dredged a turning basin, and constructed a 200-foot wharf. Facilities now include a 2,315-foot breakwater to the west, a 2,760-foot breakwater to the east, a 600-foot wide entrance channel, and two commercial piers.
